Napoleon's hat sells for eyewatering price at Paris auction
A bicorne hat that once belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte was sold for almost two million euros at a French auction. The hat, which features Napoleon's signature colors, broke the previous record for a Napoleonic hat. The auction attracted collectors from around the world, and the buyer's identity or nationality was not disclosed. Napoleon is believed to have owned around 120 similar hats, but most of them are now lost. The hat was worn by Napoleon during the middle of his reign and became a symbol of his image.
